How it all began!

For my first blog, I thought I would talk about how The Cherries got started as a holiday cottage.

We live next door and when the opportunity to buy the property arose, we bought it with the intention of having a long-term let. However, once we began renovations and putting our stamp on it, we decided it would be a great project for us to make it into a holiday home.

We gave the cottage a good face-lift and both Rob and I got creative with the decor. Lots of sanding of floor boards and up-cycling later, we have added our own touches with Rob's paintings and my crafting.

Even now, we still find ourselves buying quirky bits and bobs from all sorts of places, from car-boot sales down the road to "dépots-vente" in France on our travels. A lot of work has gone into this venture but we get so much pleasure from it all.

The many compliments received from guests about the decor makes it all worthwhile!
